Improvement of iron deficiency anemia
Iron deficiency anemia occurs due to a lack of iron in the body, which can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, pallor, and shortness of breath. This medication helps alleviate anemia symptoms by supplementing iron and normalizing the production of red blood cells and oxygen transport capacity in the blood. It is used to effectively treat health issues caused by iron deficiency.
Take 100 mg of iron once daily. Take it before, during, or after meals.
Children aged 12 to less than 19 years: take 50 mg once, twice daily. Children aged 1 to less than 12 years: take 50 mg once, 1 to 2 times a day. Children under 1 year: take iron once daily.
This medication contains iron, so children under 6 years old should not have access to it as accidental ingestion can lead to serious toxicity and risk of death. Individuals who have allergies to this medication, infants under 12 months, or those with certain iron metabolism disorders should not take it. Additionally, those with issues utilizing iron, non-iron deficiency anemia, chronic hemolytic anemia, iron overload, chronic pancreatitis, or cirrhosis should also avoid taking this medication. It is advisable not to take this medication simultaneously with phosphate, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, or antacids. Teas containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, as well as milk and dairy products, should also be avoided before and after taking this medication. People receiving treatment from a doctor or those with gastrointestinal diseases, heart and kidney disorders, or those who receive repeated blood transfusions should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If abnormal symptoms such as hives, skin rashes, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, or fever occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. In case of overdose, serious symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, and blood in stools may present, requiring immediate emergency treatment. It is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration guidelines, and to identify the exact cause of anemia for effective treatment. When administering to children, supervision by a guardian is necessary, and if symptoms do not improve, medical consultation is recommended. During treatment, blood tests should be conducted to monitor the condition and avoid overdose. This medication can be taken with fruit or vegetable juices, and taking it with Vitamin C may enhance iron absorption.
