Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be given to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, have severely impaired kidney function, have severe liver dysfunction, or are pregnant should not take it. Additionally, patients with very low blood pressure, kidney problems, hypercalcemia, or gout should use this medication cautiously and consult their doctor before taking it. Regular checks of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be performed during the use of this medication to monitor for abnormalities. This medication may increase potassium levels in the blood, so it can be dangerous to take it with potassium supplements or other medications that contain potassium without consulting a doctor. The hydrochlorothiazide component may cause electrolyte imbalances, so caution is advised especially if symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea occur; severe symptoms should be reported to medical personnel immediately. Some patients may experience side effects such as skin rash, headache, dizziness, or cough, and if a severe allergic reaction occurs, the medication should be stopped immediately and a healthcare professional consulted. During treatment, avoid excessive sun exposure, and report any unusual skin changes to a doctor immediately. This medication has insufficient experience for use in children and adolescents, so it should not be administered to them. In elderly patients, adverse reactions may occur more frequently, so they should take it with caution. Caution should be taken in case of dizziness or drowsiness while driving or operating machinery. It is advisable to avoid grapefruit juice during treatment, and if other medications are being taken, inform the doctor or pharmacist as there may be interactions with other drugs. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
