Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in women within the first 3 months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as administering more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A may pose a risk of congenital malformations in the fetus. Patients with hypercalcemia, a condition characterized by excessive calcium in the blood, patients with sarcoidosis, an unknown cause of systemic inflammatory disease, and patients with kidney diseases should not take this medication. Individuals allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication, infants under 3 months old, patients with kidney stones, and those allergic to soy oil, soybeans, or peanuts should also avoid taking this medication. Infants under 1 year, patients currently undergoing other treatments, children who are exposed to a lot of sunlight and are eating normally, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, and infants should definitely consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. In particular, women within the first 3 months of pregnancy should limit their vitamin A intake to less than 5,000 IU and caution is needed as vitamin D may cause hypercalcemia in newborns through breast milk. Patients with a history of kidney stones, hyperlipoproteinemia, diabetic dyslipidemia, pancreatitis, or other lipid metabolism disorders should also consult a specialist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, skin itching, dry skin, joint swelling, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dizziness, swelling of the face or legs, or rash appear while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. If you experience overdose or symptoms persist after taking it for more than a month, stop taking it and consult a specialist. Long-term high-dose vitamin A intake may increase the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, so caution is advised. Always follow the prescribed dosage and method during use, and when administering it to children, caregivers must supervise. Vitamin A can be sufficiently obtained from regular meals, so care should be taken not to exceed 5,000 IU daily as supplemental therapy. This medication can discolor urine yellow, which may affect clinical test results. Patients concerned about lipid overload should check their plasma lipid levels and adjust dosages as necessary. When used with other intravenous lipid emulsions, the lipid content of this medication should be considered for dosage reduction. Store in a sealed container, out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place with minimal humidity to maintain quality. Take care not to transfer it to another container to maintain its quality.
