Relief of symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and shoulder periarthritis
This medication is used for osteoarthritis of the knee joint and periarthritis of the shoulder. It helps to reduce inflammation and pain around the knee joint and shoulder joint, thereby improving joint function.
Typically for adults, administer 1 syringe once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or biceps tendon sheath), but adjust the frequency according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its ingredients. It should be used with caution in patients who have had allergies to other medications or have liver function issues. Caution is also needed if there are skin conditions or infections in the joint. Severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur during use, so if symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. If swelling or rashes around the face or eyes or itchiness occurs, treatment should be stopped and medical attention obtained. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, or warmth at the injection site may occur. Nausea, vomiting, and fever are also rare side effects to watch for. In cases of severe inflammation in the joint, it is recommended to reduce the inflammation first before administering this drug. After administration, measures to stabilize the joint area are necessary. If the medication leaks outside the joint, pain may occur, so it must be accurately injected into the joint. Injections should be performed under sterile conditions, and if symptoms do not improve, administration should be limited to three times. If there is excess joint fluid, it is advisable to drain the fluid before injection. This drug should not be injected into the bloodstream and is not for ophthalmic use. A needle gauge of 22-23 is appropriate for injection. Care should be taken, as mixing with certain disinfectants may cause the medication to precipitate. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use the drug cautiously when the benefits outweigh the risks, and it is advisable to avoid administration during breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been established, so it should be used cautiously only when necessary. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, so they should be used even more cautiously.
