Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be used in patients with certain allergic reactions, severely impaired kidney function, severely compromised liver function, pregnant women, or women who could become pregnant. Patients with excessively low blood pressure or problems with the renal arteries, liver disease, or electrolyte imbalances should use this medication with caution. The hydrochlorothiazide component can cause electrolyte imbalances, so regular blood tests should be performed to monitor sodium and potassium levels. This medication lowers blood pressure, which may cause dizziness or drowsiness when starting treatment or increasing the dose, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. Taking potassium supplements or medications containing potassium with this medicine can dangerously elevate blood potassium levels, thus it should not be combined without consulting a doctor. Patients should inform their doctor immediately if new abnormal skin lesions arise or existing skin conditions worsen while taking this medication and should avoid sun exposure and take care of UV protection. Elderly patients or those with diabetes may experience adverse reactions more frequently while taking this medication, and thus should be monitored more closely. If severe cough, rash, facial swelling, or respiratory distress occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult with healthcare personnel. Use in children and adolescents is not recommended due to insufficient experience. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed, and immediate medical attention should be sought if any unusual symptoms arise. This medication should be stored in its original container and kept out of reach of children for safety.
