Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients. It should also not be administered to patients for whom stimulation of gastrointestinal motility could be harmful, such as those with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation. During the use of this medication, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored. If blood pressure drops, breathing becomes difficult, or if skin rashes, hives, paleness, or increased sweating occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be obtained. Liver function abnormalities or symptoms of jaundice may occur, so liver function test results should be checked periodically, and administration should be stopped if abnormalities are found. This medication may cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation. Neurological symptoms such as headache, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness may also appear, so careful monitoring of symptoms is necessary. Endocrine disorders such as gynecomastia or increased prolactin levels may occur, and if these symptoms manifest, cessation of medication may be required. Laboratory tests may show decreased platelet or white blood cell counts, so regular blood tests are recommended, and if abnormalities are found, administration should be discontinued. Kidney function indicators, BUN and creatinine levels, may increase; therefore, kidney function should also be checked periodically. Liver enzyme levels may rise, so the health status of the liver should be consistently monitored. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, redness, or itching may occur, and if such symptoms arise, administration should be stopped. Extrapyramidal symptoms such as tremors may occur, and if these symptoms appear, the use of the medication should be stopped immediately. Chest or back pain and fatigue may occasionally occur, so these symptoms should also be closely observed. This medication enhances the action of acetylcholine, so this should be considered when using it, and it should not be used for prolonged periods if digestive symptoms do not improve. If taken with anticholinergic drugs, the effectiveness of this medication may decrease, so care should be taken in adjusting dosing intervals. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment exceed the risks, as its safety has not been established. This medication can be secreted in breast milk, so nursing mothers should avoid its use or discontinue breastfeeding if unavoidable. The safety of this medication in pediatric patients has not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should be used with caution in children. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more easily due to decreased physiological function, so symptoms should be monitored closely, and dosage adjustments or discontinuation should be considered when necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may cause accidents or degrade the quality.
