Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with severely impaired liver function or patients with genetic lactose intolerance. Caution is required for elderly patients or those with kidney function issues, as well as for patients with excessively low blood pressure or decreased blood volume. Blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels in the blood should be routinely monitored during treatment, as electrolyte imbalances, such as hyperkalemia, can occur. If symptoms such as dizziness, severe fatigue, edema, or respiratory distress occur during treatment, consult a physician immediately. This medication lowers blood pressure, so it is recommended to discontinue use within 24 hours prior to surgery. Taking this drug with other antihypertensive medications, potassium-sparing diuretics, or potassium supplements can dangerously increase potassium levels, so consultation with a physician is essential. Furthermore, taking this medication in conjunction with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may reduce blood pressure control and worsen kidney function, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued or this medication should be replaced with another if breastfeeding. This drug has not been confirmed as safe for children, especially those under 6 years old, and should not be given to children with severely impaired kidney function. In the case of overdose, hypotension and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention is required. It is advisable to avoid grapefruit juice while taking this medication, and to store it out of reach of children.
