Treatment of hypertension and kidney disease (in patients with type 2 diabetes)
This medication is mainly used for treating hypertension. It also helps prevent or treat kidney damage in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes. It is effective in controlling blood pressure and improving diabetes-related kidney complications. Therefore, taking this medication is important for managing complications related to hypertension.
This medication can be taken without regard to meals, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day. For treating hypertension, an oral dose of 50 mg once daily is recommended; if the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the dose can be split into two administations or increased to a maximum of 100 mg once daily. For kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension, typically 50 mg once daily is administered, and according to blood pressure, it can be increased to 100 mg once daily.
For children and adolescents aged 6 and older, For patients weighing 20 kg or more but less than 50 kg, the dose is 25 mg once daily; based on blood pressure response, it can be increased to a maximum of 50 mg once daily. The

This medication is contraindicated in patients with certain diseases such as severe hepatic impairment, history of angioedema, pregnant women, and patients with hereditary lactose intolerance. Elderly patients, those with renal issues, and patients with hyperkalemia require special caution when taking this medication, and blood pressure and electrolyte levels should be monitored regularly. Generally, this medication is well tolerated; however, side effects such as dizziness, muscle cramps, lower back pain, and cough may occur. Rarely, serious adverse reactions such as angioedema, hepatic dysfunction, muscle pain, and rhabdomyolysis may occur, so immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required if symptoms occur. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium supplements, etc., so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals of any medications being taken. Particularly, caution should be exercised when used with drugs that can increase potassium levels as the risk of hyperkalemia grows. Patients may experience dizziness or fainting due to blood pressure reduction while taking this medication, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor before using this medication, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to avoid its use. In case of an overdose, hypotension and bradycardia may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored safely to avoid transferring it to another container.
