This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to its components. It should also not be administered to patients with very poor liver function or severely impaired kidney function. Patients with epilepsy or those who have experienced seizures in the past, as well as those prone to seizures, should use this medication with caution. Additionally, co-administration with NMDA antagonists such as amantadine, ketamine, and dextromethorphan may exacerbate side effects, so they should not be combined. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur, and if symptoms worsen, patients should consult their physicians. Rare reports of mental confusion, hallucinations, and psychotic symptoms have been noted, so if these symptoms occur, immediate notification to healthcare professionals is required.
