Precautions

This medication should be administered with caution to patients with edema or ascites due to liver cirrhosis, as it may cause sudden changes in body fluid and electrolyte balance, increasing the risk of hepatic encephalopathy, a serious brain dysfunction. It is preferable to receive treatment in a hospital when administering this medication to prevent dangerous electrolyte imbalances and hepatic encephalopathy. To prevent hypokalemia and metabolic acidosis, concomitant use of aldosterone antagonists or potassium-sparing diuretics is recommended. This medication should not be used in specific patients, such as children under 12 years old, those with hypotension or severely impaired kidney function, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe liver function impairment, and those with cardiac arrhythmias. It should also not be administered to individuals with a known allergy to this drug or similar medications. Patients with a history of gout or diabetes, liver disease, kidney dysfunction, the elderly, etc., should use this medication with extra caution and regularly monitor for electrolyte imbalances or changes in blood levels. Symptoms such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, and muscle weakness may occur during treatment with this medication, and rare adverse effects such as heart problems, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal function abnormalities, and skin allergic reactions may arise. If any abnormal symptoms occur, consult a doctor immediately. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, diabetes medications, digitalis preparations, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., so it is essential to discuss concomitant medications with a doctor or pharmacist. During treatment, ensure sufficient potassium intake through diet and be cautious when performing tasks that require concentration, such as driving or operating machinery. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication as it may affect the fetus or newborn and requires special attention. Exceeding the prescribed dosage may result in symptoms such as drowsiness, confusion, and severe hypotension; in case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention for proper treatment. Store this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to another container for safety.
