Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For instance, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients, those with orthostatic hypotension, severe liver dysfunction, pregnant women or those capable of becoming pregnant should not take this medication. Patients with severe renal impairment, elderly individuals, and those taking PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, or antihypertensives should use this medication cautiously. Especially, individuals currently taking alpha-1 blockers or with a history of urinary syncope should typically avoid this medication but can take it with care if absolutely necessary. When taking this medication, various side effects such as dizziness, blood pressure drops, palpitations, skin rash, and gastrointestinal discomfort may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, they should consult a doctor immediately. Care should be taken not to overdose due to the possibility of blood pressure drops, and caution should be exercised when changing posture as dizziness may occur upon standing. This medication is a treatment for symptom relief, and if it does not work, alternative treatment options should be considered. Care is needed when driving or working at heights due to the risk of accidents from dizziness. Since symptoms of prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia are similar, it is necessary to confirm the presence of prostate cancer before taking this medication. This medication can rarely cause priapism, so immediate treatment is required if such symptoms occur. Patients taking this medication undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery require special care during surgery. Those with sulfonamide (sulfa drug) allergies should be careful as allergic reactions may occur when taking this medication. This medication can cause severe drops in blood pressure when taken with other antihypertensives or specific medications, so patients should inform their doctor about other medications they are taking, and caution is required when used together. Pregnant women or children under 18 should not take this medication. Elderly patients often have reduced renal function, so they should start with a lower dose and monitor their condition.
