Precautions

This medication contains the ingredient α-lipoic acid, and should not be taken by individuals who are hypersensitive to it. Furthermore, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been sufficiently established for children and adolescents, so it is advisable not to use it in this age group. During administration, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may rarely occur. Allergic reactions such as rash, hives, and itching may also develop on the skin. As it can lower blood sugar levels, there is a risk of hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, headaches, and vision problems, so caution is advised. Occasionally, changes in taste have also been reported. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. Alcohol can worsen nerve damage and reduce the effectiveness of the drug. Caution is required when taking this medication with other drugs. In particular, if combined with preparations containing metal components or milk, absorption may be hindered due to binding in the body, so it is necessary to take them at intervals. Additionally, taking it with insulin or oral antidiabetic medications may increase blood sugar-lowering effects, so blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently. If pregnant or breastfeeding, since there is insufficient information regarding the safety of this medication, careful consideration should be made after consulting a doctor. In case of overdose, serious poisoning symptoms may occur, including altered consciousness, generalized convulsions, hypoglycemia, and kidney and liver dysfunction. If such symptoms are suspected, seek immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. When storing, avoid high temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, and keep the medication out of reach of children. Furthermore, it is safer not to transfer the medication to another container and to maintain the original packaging.
