This medication is used when vitamin D supply is needed during pregnancy, lactation, periods of growth, and in old age. It also improves deficiencies in bone and dental development and is effective in preventing rickets. It helps in calcium deficiency and other calcium supplementation, contributing to the maintenance of healthy bones. Thus, this medication is used to maintain and enhance bone health through a balanced supply of vitamin D and calcium.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and ages 8 and above: 1 time a day, 1-2 tablets. It should be dissolved or chewed in the mouth.

Child dose

Ages 36 months to under 8 years: 1 time a day, 1 tablet. It should be dissolved or chewed in the mouth.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia or sarcoidosis, a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown origin, as well as those with kidney disease. Additionally, individuals allergic to the ingredients of this medication, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should not take this medication. It is important to avoid taking this medication concurrently with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracyclines, and antacids during treatment. Infants under 1 year, patients currently receiving treatment from a doctor, children with normal dietary intake and significant sun exposure, pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as premature and very young infants, should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Patients with heart or circulatory issues, kidney disorders, hypoproteinemia, those on cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should also consult experts before use. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur during use, discontinue taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Caution is required as excessive dosing or prolonged use may cause hypercalcemia and calculi. Be particularly cautious if used with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene, as this may raise blood potassium levels. Follow the prescribed dosage strictly, and administration to children should be supervised by a guardian. It is advisable to avoid tannin-containing teas, such as green tea and black tea, before and after usage. Store this medication out of the reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, to maintain quality, do not transfer it to another container.
