View approved original text

This medication is mainly used to control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It is also effectively used in patients with heart failure, particularly when there is left ventricular dysfunction (heart failure NYHA class II-IV, left ventricular ejection fraction ≤ 40%) where additional therapy with an ACE inhibitor is needed or when ACE inhibitors cannot be used. This drug helps improve heart function and alleviate symptoms of heart failure. Consequently, it is used for the treatment of essential hypertension and certain heart failure patients.
