Relief of arthritis and pain including rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis
This medication is effective for inflammatory joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. It is also used for pain relief from conditions such as periarthritis of the shoulder, dental pain, and post-traumatic inflammation. It alleviates discomfort from back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism. This medication helps improve various pain and inflammation states, making it useful for managing pain related to joints and soft tissues.
For aceclofenac, take 100 mg once every 12 hours, twice a day. This medication should be taken whole without chewing or crushing. Adjust dosage as appropriate based on symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, it should be administered at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Those who regularly consume a significant amount of alcohol daily must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it may cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding. Additionally, this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so those with heart or vascular issues or risk factors should use it cautiously. The longer and higher the dosage, the greater the risk; thus, the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration should be used. During treatment, cardiovascular symptoms should be periodically monitored; if symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately. This medication can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation, so special caution should be exercised especially in elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal ailments. If symptoms like abdominal pain or bleeding occur during treatment, immediate care is required, and in severe cases, discontinuation may be necessary. Do not take if you have active peptic ulcers or bleeding, or if you have allergic reactions to this medication or similar medications. Those with a history of asthma or allergies should also avoid this medication, and it’s contraindicated during late pregnancy, severe heart failure, or severe kidney or liver disease. Patients with compromised kidney function or a history of heart failure, hypertension, and asthma should use this medication cautiously and be closely monitored during treatment. Taking this medication can result in various side effects such as dizziness, indigestion, elevated liver enzyme levels, skin rashes, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, hyperkalemia, depression, strange dreams, insomnia, visual impairment, optic neuritis, sensory disturbances, tremors, drowsiness, headaches, taste disturbances, neck stiffness, fever, sense of direction disturbances, confusion, hallucinations, tinnitus, fatigue, palpitations, facial flushing, hypertension, heart failure, bronchospasm, and constriction. Before use, be sure to discuss other medications taken concurrently, especially anticoagulants, diuretics, antihypertensives, and anticancer drugs for potential interactions. Pregnant or nursing women should refrain from using this medication, and those planning to become pregnant should consult beforehand. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established; therefore, it is advisable to avoid use in this age group. Elderly patients are at a higher risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation, so they should take special care when using this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as gastrointestinal irritation, hypotension, respiratory depression, and seizures may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention.
