This medicine is effectively used for muscle pain and spasms accompanying musculoskeletal diseases, such as shoulder-hand syndrome, adhesive capsulitis, and low back pain. It also helps treat spastic paralysis caused by neurological diseases. This includes spastic paralysis due to various causes such as cerebrovascular disorders, spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy. This drug relaxes the muscles and reduces pain, contributing to improving the daily lives of patients. In other words, it is used to treat musculoskeletal pain and spastic paralysis caused by neurological diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

As Eperisone Hydrochloride, take 50 mg orally three times a day after meals. Adjust the dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in specific patients. Firstly, patients who have had allergic reactions to this medicine or patients with myasthenia gravis should not take it. Additionally, this medicine contains lactose, so patients with genetic disorders that impair lactose digestion should also avoid it. Care should be taken when administering this drug to patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or liver function problems, as liver function may worsen. Rarely, shock reactions may occur during use, so if symptoms appear, the administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Liver or kidney function may be compromised, so regular monitoring of status is necessary, and administration should be discontinued if abnormal symptoms occur. Various side effects such as blood abnormalities, skin rashes, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, and gastrointestinal issues may occur, so one should monitor their physical condition closely. In particular, if serious skin symptoms such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome occur, the use of the medication should be stopped immediately, and the patient should go to the hospital. During the intake of this medication, symptoms such as weakness, staggering, and drowsiness may occur, and if these symptoms are present, the dosage should be reduced or the intake stopped. Moreover, due to drowsiness and reduced reflexes, it is advisable to avoid driving vehicles or operating dangerous machinery. When used with similar medications, there may be visual disturbances, so caution should be exercised when combining medications. Pregnant women or women of childbearing potential should only use this medication under a doctor's supervision when necessary, as its safety has not been established. Lactating women should ideally avoid this medication, and if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so cautious use is required, and elderly patients may require careful attention to dosage due to possible decline in physical functions.
