Precautions

This drug is an alpha-blocker used to lower blood pressure and alleviate urination disorders caused by prostatic hyperplasia. This drug should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to alpha-blockers or children under the age of 12, as well as patients with genetic problems such as lactose intolerance. Administration should be cautious for patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, those with a history of orthostatic hypotension or cardiovascular diseases, and patients with allergies to specific dyes. Care should be taken when starting or changing dosages since dizziness or fainting may occur, and it is advisable to avoid dangerous activities such as working at heights or driving. During treatment, blood pressure may drop suddenly or heart rate may increase; if symptoms appear, lie down immediately and seek medical help if necessary. Neurological symptoms such as depression, insomnia, and headache may occur, while gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea may arise. Additionally, caution is needed as blood pressure may drop further when taken with antihypertensive agents, but interactions with specific drugs are relatively few. Pregnant or lactating women should be carefully administered this drug under medical supervision as its safety has not been established, and it is advisable to avoid use during nursing. Elderly patients should start at a low dose and be monitored to prevent excessive lowering of blood pressure. In cases of overdose, blood pressure may drop sharply, and immediate medical treatment is necessary; dialysis is not effective. This drug should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided to maintain quality and prevent accidents.
