Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with certain eye diseases. For example, it should not be administered to patients with viral keratitis or conjunctivitis, fungal infections, or tuberculosis infections. Additionally, patients with a history of glaucoma, newborns, corneal damage, and ulceration should not use this medication. It should also be avoided in cases of allergy to this medication. Using this medication may lead to allergic reactions, and there is a risk of perforation due to thinning of the cornea or sclera. Intraocular pressure may increase, and long-term use can lead to serious side effects such as optic nerve damage, visual field loss, glaucoma, and cataracts. Moreover, due to the steroid component, immune responses may be suppressed, worsening or prolonging infections and delaying wound healing. During acute inflammation, there is a risk of masking or exacerbating inflammation. If wearing contact lenses, they must be removed when using this medication, and if used for more than 10 days, regular intraocular pressure checks are advised. Even if symptoms improve, treatment should continue for a few more days, but the total duration of use should not exceed 14 days. If symptoms do not improve after 7-8 days, use should be discontinued and alternative treatments should be considered. There is a risk of infection with chickenpox or measles while using this medication, so it is essential to check medical history and vaccination status, and seek immediate medical attention if infections are suspected. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before using this medication due to uncertain safety, and nursing mothers should preferably avoid use or discontinue breastfeeding. This medication is intended for direct instillation into the eyes, making sure the opening of the container does not come into contact with the eyes. If using with other eye drops, they should be administered with a 15-minute interval, and it is advisable to avoid sharing to prevent contamination. Store in a tightly closed container to prevent air and moisture ingress, and it is recommended to keep it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
