Precautions

This medication contains α-lipoic acid and should not be used in patients who are allergic to this ingredient or other additives. Additionally, there is insufficient clinical experience regarding safety and efficacy for children and adolescents, so it is advisable not to use it in this age group. During treatment, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occasionally occur, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, and hives may also develop. Moreover, blood sugar levels may decrease, leading to hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, headaches, and vision disturbances, so caution is necessary. Rarely, changes in taste may occur. If consumed frequently with alcohol, the risk of nerve damage may increase, and the therapeutic effect of this medication may diminish; therefore, diabetic neuropathy patients are recommended to avoid alcohol intake. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of the specific anticancer drug cisplatin, and if taken with iron or magnesium supplements, as well as calcium-containing foods like milk, absorption in the body may be hindered, so dosages should be timed accordingly. Additionally, when taken with insulin or other diabetes medications, the blood sugar-lowering effect may increase, so blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, and medication dosages should be adjusted as needed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication only after carefully weighing the benefits and risks under the guidance of a physician. In cases of suspected overdose, severe toxicity symptoms may occur; therefore, it is crucial to visit a hospital immediately for appropriate treatment. Store this medication in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is advisable to maintain storage temperatures between 1°C and 30°C to ensure the medication's effectiveness and quality.
