Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. First, individuals who have experienced an allergic reaction to this medication or its components should not use it. Additionally, since it is injected into the joint, it should not be administered to patients with skin conditions or infections at the injection site. Patients with liver function problems or a history of liver disease should be cautious before using this medication. People allergic to avian proteins should also avoid this medication. Various side effects may occur while using this medication. Severe allergic reactions such as shock may happen, so the patient's condition should be carefully monitored after administration. If there is swelling around the face or eyes, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or itching, use should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, and warmth may occur at the injection site, and there may be severe pressure or bruising as well. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fever, and headache may also appear. This medication may worsen inflammatory symptoms in severe arthritis cases, so it is advisable to use it after inflammation has subsided. After injection, it is best to stabilize the injection site and avoid excessive movement. If the medication leaks out of the joint, pain may occur, so caution is needed during injection. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis or gout may experience temporary increases in inflammation and should be prudent. It is advised to avoid vigorous exercise or weight-bearing activities within 48 hours post-injection. The safety and effectiveness of using this medication with other intra-articular injections have not been confirmed, so it is recommended not to use them together. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, only when absolutely necessary, as its safety is not guaranteed. Additionally, since this medication can be transferred through breast milk, it is advisable to avoid breastfeeding while using it. The safety of this medication has not been sufficiently established for children, so it should only be used cautiously when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, requiring more careful administration. Maintain a sterile environment during injection, and limit administration to 5 times if symptoms do not improve. Fluid accumulation in the joint should be drained if necessary via aspiration. This medication is not intended for intravenous administration or ophthalmic use. During injection, as the solution is viscous, it is advisable to use a syringe of appropriate size and inject slowly. Shake the ampoule to ensure proper mixing and handle it carefully to avoid introducing foreign substances. Be cautious with mixing it with antiseptics, as precipitation may occur; it is single-use, so it should be used immediately after opening and any remaining solution should be discarded. Also, administering a local anesthetic prior to injection may reduce pain.
