Achit Granule

Adult dose

For adults, take 1 packet orally 3 times a day after meals.

This medication should only be used according to a doctor's instructions. It should not be administered to patients with congenital branched-chain amino acid metabolic disorders. Taking this medication may occasionally result in gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, and loss of appetite; in such cases, consult a physician to reduce the dosage or temporarily discontinue use. As it may affect kidney function, dosage should be adjusted if kidney-related values increase in blood tests. Metabolic disorders may occur, leading to elevated blood ammonia levels, thus regular monitoring is necessary. There may be instances of increased liver function test values, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes or itching may also occur. Fatigue or swelling in the face and legs may sometimes occur, so symptoms should be monitored closely. This medication is used in patients with liver cirrhosis and hypoalbuminemia who do not have sufficient food intake or have complications such as diabetes or hepatic encephalopathy. It is not effective in patients with severe hepatic encephalopathy or significantly impaired liver function, so it should not be administered. This medication contains only branched-chain amino acids and does not provide all necessary amino acids; therefore, sufficient protein and caloric intake through diet or other means is required. Excessive dosing may raise blood ammonia or BUN levels and be harmful to health, thus caution is advised. If symptoms do not improve after 2 months of use, a switch to another treatment may be needed. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should only take this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Safety in pediatric patients has not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use it in children. Elderly patients may have impaired physical function, so there is a risk of side effects such as elevated blood ammonia levels; careful administration is necessary.
