Improvement of hypertension and diabetic nephropathy
This medication is used for the treatment of hypertension and is particularly helpful in preventing and treating kidney disease in patients with hypertension and Type 2 diabetes. It effectively controls blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications, and is expected to have protective effects on kidney function. Therefore, it plays an important role in improving hypertension and related complications.
For the treatment of hypertension, administration of Losartan Potassium at a dosage of 50 mg orally once a day is recommended. Maximum antihypertensive effect occurs 3 to 6 weeks after treatment initiation. If the treatment effect is insufficient, the dose may be split into twice daily or increased to 100 mg once a day. In patients with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension, a typical dosage is 50 mg once daily based on blood pressure up to 100 mg if needed.
For children and adolescents aged 6 and over, the dosage varies according to weight. For patients weighing 20 kg to less than 50 kg, 25 mg once a day is administered, and it can be increased to a maximum of 50 mg if necessary.
