View approved original text

This medication improves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and reduces enlarged prostate tissue to facilitate urination. It also helps reduce the frequency of acute urinary retention, which is the sudden inability to urinate. As a result, it can decrease the likelihood of needing surgical treatment, such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. Overall, this drug is effective in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and is used to enhance the quality of life for patients.
