Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or have the potential to become pregnant. Patients who are allergic to this drug or have severe liver impairment or hereditary angioedema should not take it. Additionally, patients with severe renal impairment or certain heart conditions, and those who have reduced intravascular blood volume should use this medication with caution. Elderly patients or those with high serum potassium levels, or mild to moderate liver impairment should take this drug carefully. Dizziness or hypotension may occur during treatment, so caution is recommended when driving or operating machinery. Because it has blood pressure-lowering effects, if symptoms of hypotension or loss of consciousness occur, consult a doctor immediately. Regular blood tests to monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels are important while taking this medication. Taking potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes can dangerously increase blood potassium levels, so it should not be taken without consulting a doctor. Moreover, grapefruit juice may reduce the drug’s effectiveness and should be avoided. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women; if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and bradycardia may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought.
