This medication is used to relieve inflammatory symptoms accompanied by edema and to reduce swelling occurring after trauma or surgery.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

As bromelain, take 100 mg once, twice a day. Take with water 30 minutes before meals. Or as bromelain, take 45-90 mg once, three times a day. Take with water 30 minutes before meals.

Children's dosage

Children over 12 years of age should take the same dosage as adults.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with severe blood coagulation disorders, such as hemophilia. Patients with severe liver or kidney diseases, especially those undergoing dialysis, should also refrain from taking this medication. Patients on anticoagulants or platelet aggregation inhibitors should avoid using this medication together as it may increase the risk of bleeding. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid taking this medication due to the lack of established safety. Additionally, children under 12 years of age should not take this medication. Before taking this medication, it may be necessary to consult with a physician, dentist, or pharmacist. Particularly, patients taking antibiotics like tetracycline should consult a specialist because taking this medication with antibiotics may enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics. If any adverse reactions occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. For example, hypersensitivity reactions may occur with this medication, in which case symptoms may resolve quickly upon discontinuation. Gastrointestinal issues can also arise, with rare occurrences of abdominal pain or diarrhea, so inform a specialist if such symptoms occur. This medication should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children. Also, do not store the medication in other containers as it may lead to misuse or a decline in quality—store it in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
