Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used for the treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease.
Treatment must be initiated by a physician with experience in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's dementia and only if a caregiver can regularly monitor the patient's medication intake. This medication can be taken regardless of food intake. Dose escalation: The maximum daily dose is 20mg, and to minimize the risk of adverse reactions, the dosage should be increased by 5mg each week over the first 3 weeks to reach the maintenance dose.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. First, individuals allergic to any of the components of this medication should not take it. Second, patients with severely impaired liver function or severely diminished kidney function should not use this medication. Third, individuals with lactose intolerance or specific genetic metabolic disorders should also not use this medication. Furthermore, special caution is needed for patients with a history of seizures or those prone to seizures, those taking other medications with similar actions, those expected to have changes in urine acidity, and patients with heart disease or uncontrolled hypertension. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension, and in rare cases, symptoms like confusion, hallucinations, and seizures may also occur. When used with other medications, interactions may occur, so caution is especially required when combining it with NMDA antagonists, antipsychotic medications, skeletal muscle relaxants, and anticoagulants. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding must consult a doctor before taking this medication, and pregnant women must decide cautiously as it may affect the fetus. Safety and efficacy regarding children under the age of 18 have not been sufficiently confirmed. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms such as coma, hallucinations, and seizures may occur, so immediate medical attention is required if this medication is overdosed. This medication is primarily used for patients with severe Alzheimer's disease, who generally have reduced capabilities for driving or operating machinery, so special care is needed during these activities. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to other containers should be avoided to maintain quality and safety.

This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air and moisture, and it is best to store it at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way helps to maintain the medication's effectiveness and prevents deterioration.
