Short-term treatment of acute exacerbations of osteoarthritis; relief of symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis and rheumatoid arthritis
This medicine is used for the short-term relief of pain and movement disorders during acute exacerbations of osteoarthritis. It also helps relieve symptoms in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, thus reducing inflammation and pain in joints to make daily life more comfortable for patients. It is used for symptom treatment of various inflammatory joint diseases.
1. Acute exacerbation of osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis): ○ Adults: Administer meloxicam 7.5 mg orally once daily. If symptoms do not improve, the dose may be increased to 15 mg per day as necessary. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: ○ Adults: Administer meloxicam 15 mg orally once daily. Depending on response to treatment, the dose may be reduced to 7.5 mg per day. Do not administer more than 15 mg of this medicine per day. Take the daily dose as a single dose with water or another beverage during a meal. ○ For older adults or patients at increased risk of adverse reactions (e.g., a history of gastrointestinal disease or cardiovascular risk factors), treatment is usually started at a dose of 7.5 mg per day. ○ Patients with severe renal impairment undergoing hemodialysis should not receive more than 7.5 mg per day.
