Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters; therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take it. Discontinue immediately if pregnancy is confirmed, and regularly check the fetal condition with ultrasound or other means. This medication should not be administered to patients with severely impaired liver function or certain genetic lactose intolerance. Additionally, those with a history of angioedema or specific kidney diseases should avoid taking it. Elderly patients, those with poor kidney function, and patients with high serum potassium levels should use this medication cautiously, as excessively low blood pressure may lead to issues with the heart or cerebral blood vessels, requiring careful attention. Generally, this medication is well tolerated, but side effects such as dizziness, muscle cramps, cough, and dyspepsia may occur. Rarely, serious side effects like angioedema, liver function abnormalities, renal failure, and hypoglycemia may arise, necessitating immediate consultation with medical personnel if unusual symptoms occur. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is necessary while taking this medication to detect any abnormalities. Particularly, caution is required to avoid taking potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes, as there is a risk of hyperkalemia. Interactions with other antihypertensives, diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), lithium, and others may occur, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers about any other medications being taken. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women. If it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. It is not used in children, especially those under 6 years or those with severely impaired kidney function, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and bradycardia may occur, requiring immediate treatment, so caution is advised. Keep this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers for safety. During treatment, be cautious while driving or operating machinery due to potential dizziness.
