This medication improves symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia and reduces the enlarged prostate to relieve urethral pressure and improve urine flow. It also lowers the incidence of acute urinary retention, reducing discomfort. This medication can decrease the cases requiring surgical treatment such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. Overall, it is effective in improving various issues caused by prostatic hyperplasia.
As Finasteride, take 5 mg orally once daily, with or without food. Even if symptoms improve during treatment, a minimum of 6 months of therapy is required.
