Precautions

This medication should not be used by certain patients. For example, patients allergic to this medication or its ingredients, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients in cardiogenic shock, patients with severe aortic stenosis, patients with unstable angina, patients who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, patients with severe hepatic impairment, and patients with severe hypotension should not be administered this drug. Additionally, it should be used with caution in patients with very poor kidney function, the elderly, patients with acute heart failure, patients in hypertensive crisis, patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, patients with limited left ventricular function, patients with weak cardiac function, and patients with diabetes. Various side effects may occur when taking this medication. Common side effects include flushing with a feeling of warmth, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, drowsiness, and ankle swelling. Rarely, dry mouth, increased sweating, weakness, hypotension, fainting, sensory disturbances, erectile dysfunction, indigestion, elevated blood sugar, joint pain, insomnia, mood changes, skin rashes, visual disturbances, urinary irregularities, and liver function abnormalities may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be immediately reported to a healthcare professional. This medication can worsen symptoms if abruptly discontinued, so it should be tapered off under a doctor's guidance. Patients with poor liver function may require dose adjustments due to slower metabolism of this medication, and caution is needed as the blood pressure-lowering effects appear gradually after administration. Taking this medication with grapefruit juice may increase blood concentration and the risk of side effects, so grapefruit juice should be avoided. Furthermore, interactions may occur when taken with other antihypertensive medications, certain antibiotics, and hypoglycemic agents, so patients should inform their healthcare provider of any other medications they are taking. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, are advised against using this medication, and its safety in children has not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may have increased blood concentrations of this medication, so it should be started at a lower dose and used cautiously. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, cardiac issues, and loss of consciousness may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment, as this medication is not removed by hemodialysis and requires special management. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain its quality.
