This medication is used for the treatment of hypertension, particularly helping to prevent and treat kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes who have hypertension. It controls blood pressure to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications and is also effective in protecting kidney function. Therefore, it plays an important role in preventing kidney damage caused by hypertension and diabetes.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication can be taken regardless of meals, but it is advisable to take it at the same time every day. For hypertension treatment, the recommended dosage is 50 mg orally once daily. If therapeutic effects are insufficient, the dosage can be split into two doses per day or increased up to 100 mg once daily if necessary. Precautions

This drug may cause severe harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, and should not be used by pregnant women or those who may become pregnant. Elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, mild to moderate liver impairment, and patients with valvular heart disease or cardiovascular diseases should use this drug with caution, and especially patients with compromised kidney function should frequently check their serum potassium levels. This medication is generally well tolerated, but side effects such as dizziness, muscle pain, lower back pain, cough, and dyspepsia may occur, and rarely angioedema, liver function abnormalities, and muscle damage may happen, necessitating immediate consultation with a physician if abnormal symptoms arise. Patients with poor liver function may have elevated drug levels, so treatment should start with a lower dose, closely observing the condition. As this drug may interact with other medications, caution is advised when taken with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), lithium, etc., and it is advisable to avoid grapefruit juice. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women and should not be used in children under 6 years of age or in children and adolescents with severely impaired kidney function. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is necessary during treatment, and if symptoms of hypotension or renal failure occur, medical assistance should be sought immediately. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and do not transfer it to another container.
