Improvement of symptoms related to endocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, and allergic diseases
This drug is used for endocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, collagen diseases, edematous diseases, allergic diseases, severe infections, blood diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, respiratory diseases, brain and neurological diseases, skin diseases, ophthalmic diseases, otorhinolaryngological diseases, and various other conditions. It is effective for various diseases such as primary and secondary adrenal insufficiency, chronic rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, nephrotic syndrome, bronchial asthma, acute and chronic leukemia, ulcerative colitis, chronic hepatitis, tuberculous pleurisy, multiple sclerosis, atopic dermatitis, uveitis, acute otitis media, and malignant lymphoma. This drug helps to alleviate symptoms and inhibit disease progression by regulating inflammation and immune responses. It is utilized to improve health by accurately adapting to the individual patient's condition. Due to these effects, it plays an important role in the treatment and management of many diseases.
As hydrocortisone, take 10–120mg daily, divided into 1–4 doses. Adjust based on age and symptoms.
It is very important not to use this drug in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients who are allergic to this drug or its ingredients or who have experienced adverse reactions. In addition, it should not be used in patients with viral infections such as herpes simplex, shingles, or chickenpox. This drug contains lactose, therefore it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders. This drug should be used cautiously in patients with tuberculosis infections, certain keratitis conditions, posterior capsule cataracts, hypertension, electrolyte disturbances, thrombosis, and recent intestinal anastomosis, among others. Patients with diabetes should regularly check their blood glucose levels, and those with osteoporosis, renal failure, congestive heart failure, or hypothyroidism require caution as well. Elderly patients, psychiatric patients, and those with myasthenia gravis also have a higher risk of side effects from this drug, necessitating careful observation. This drug can cause various side effects, including exacerbation of infections, endocrine system abnormalities, gastrointestinal issues, mental and neurological symptoms, musculoskeletal issues, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, ocular problems, skin reactions, blood abnormalities, and cardiovascular issues. Therefore, during administration, these symptoms should be carefully monitored, and if any abnormalities are detected, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. This drug is not to be used when sufficient effects can be expected from other treatments, and particularly in long-term administration, serious side effects such as adrenal insufficiency may occur, therefore any discontinuation should be done gradually. In addition, it may obscure symptoms of infections, requiring caution in infection management. This drug may interact with various medications, so any other medications currently being taken must be notified to healthcare providers. Special attention is needed when used with cardiac medications, anticoagulants, antibiotics, diuretics, and antidiabetic agents, as dosage adjustments and monitoring are required. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should carefully consider the needs and risks of treatment, as this drug can affect the fetus or neonate, and it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding. In children, side effects such as growth retardation and increased intracranial pressure may occur, so the minimum effective dose should be used, and growth status should be closely monitored. Elderly patients have a higher risk of infection and various side effects, requiring careful observation and attention during administration.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), elevated blood pressure, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, cold sweat, pallor, high fever, severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, oral/ocular mucosal pain, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by coughing and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), general fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe decrease in urine output, elevated blood pressure
