Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. For example, individuals allergic to this drug or similar medications, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those with serious heart problems, or severe liver or kidney dysfunction should not take this medication. Additionally, there are precautions when using this drug. Patients with pacemaker issues or decreased heart function, those with a history of angina, and individuals with slightly reduced liver or kidney function should take this medication with caution. It is advisable to avoid alcohol as it may cause excessively low blood pressure. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as facial flushing, swelling of hands and feet, palpitations, headaches, dizziness, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and more. Uncommon side effects include liver dysfunction, oral inflammation, skin rashes, and muscle pain, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if these symptoms occur. Discontinuation of this medication suddenly can worsen symptoms; therefore, it should be reduced gradually when stopping or taking a break. Caution should be taken while driving or operating machinery due to the risk of dizziness or drowsiness. Moreover, as this medication is metabolized in the liver, interactions may occur when taken with certain other medications. Particularly, concurrent use with specific antifungals, antibiotics, immunosuppressants, anticonvulsants, or grapefruit juice may alter its effect, so consulting a doctor or pharmacist is crucial. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should not take this medication, and it is also advised that children and adolescents under 18 do not use it. For the elderly, special dosage adjustments are not generally required, but care should be taken when starting treatment. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or heart problems may arise, necessitating immediate hospital treatment and at least 24 hours of cardiovascular monitoring. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may change its quality, so caution is needed.
