Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, women who are pregnant or might become pregnant should not take this medication. Patients who have an allergic reaction to this drug or have severely impaired liver function, as well as those with certain genetic disorders should not use this medication. Elderly patients, patients with weak kidney function, and patients at risk of significantly low blood pressure should exercise extra caution when using this drug and should take it cautiously as directed by their physician. While using this medication, it is necessary to regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, serum potassium levels, etc., for any abnormalities, as hyperkalemia may occur. It is advisable not to take potassium supplements or medications containing potassium simultaneously. This drug lowers blood pressure, so if symptoms of hypotension (dizziness, fainting, etc.) occur, consult a doctor immediately, and in serious cases, discontinuation may be necessary. Occasionally, allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, and angioedema may occur, so it is crucial to inform medical personnel immediately if such symptoms develop. Use caution while driving or operating machinery during treatment, especially at the onset of therapy or when changing the dose. Moreover, taking this medication with grapefruit juice may decrease its effectiveness, so it is best to avoid grapefruit juice. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication and should consult a physician for alternative treatment options if necessary. This drug is not to be used in children, particularly those under 6 years old or in children with significantly impaired kidney function. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and heart rate abnormalities may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment, and this drug is not eliminated by dialysis, so emergency treatment is necessary.
