Precautions

Caution is required when administering this medication to patients with edema or ascites due to liver cirrhosis, as it may lead to rapid changes in fluid and electrolyte balance, potentially causing hepatic coma, which is a serious brain dysfunction. This medication should not be used in specific patients, including those under 12 years of age, patients with low blood pressure, patients with severely impaired kidney function, patients with severe liver dysfunction, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with gout or diabetes, those with compromised kidney or liver function, pre-surgical patients, and the elderly should be particularly careful when using this medication and should consult healthcare professionals as necessary. Regular monitoring of electrolyte balance, especially potassium and sodium levels, is important to prevent imbalances while using this medication. This medication may lower blood pressure significantly when combined with other antihypertensive medications, necessitating caution. Care must be taken when consuming alcohol and when performing tasks requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery. In cases of overdose, severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalances may occur, and immediate medical attention is necessary; since there is no specific antidote, fluid and electrolyte replenishment is crucial. This medication should not be administered to pregnant or lactating women, and women planning to become pregnant or who may be pregnant must consult healthcare professionals.
