This medication is used for the treatment of hypertension and is particularly helpful in preventing and treating kidney disease in type 2 diabetes patients. Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The initial and maintenance dose for losartan potassium is recommended to be 50 mg orally once daily. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the same dose may be divided into two doses daily or increased to a maximum of 100 mg once daily if necessary. Muscle cramps, back pain, limb pain, dizziness, congestion, upper respiratory infection, sinusitis, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, cough, sinus disorders, pharyngitis, myalgia, insomnia, headache, weakness/fatigue, edema/bloating, abdominal pain, chest pain, swelling of lips and eyelids, facial rash, peeling of palms, hemolytic phenomena, edema of the face, fever, orthostatic effects, syncope, angina, second-degree heart block, hypotension, arrhythmias associated with myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation
