As Lercanidipine Hydrochloride, take 5 to 10 mg orally once daily at least 15 minutes before a meal. Dosage may be increased up to 20 mg based on the patient's symptoms. Dosage adjustments should be made gradually, as it takes about 2 weeks for the maximum antihypertensive effect to become evident. Elderly patients or those with liver or kidney diseases need to be cautious about dosage adjustments.

For example, it should not be administered to individuals who are allergic to this drug or similar drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with serious heart-related diseases, patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, and children and adolescents under the age of 18. Moreover, it should be used cautiously in patients with pacemaker problems, left ventricular dysfunction, ischemic heart disease, mild liver or kidney impairment, those with a history of angina, or those who frequently consume alcohol, and in the elderly. Taking this drug may cause side effects such as facial flushing, swelling of the hands and feet, rapid heartbeat, headache, dizziness, indigestion, among others. Regular monitoring of liver function is necessary as liver dysfunction may occur; rarely, symptoms like skin rash or muscle pain may also arise. Especially when taken with drugs that inhibit or activate enzymes that metabolize drugs in the liver, the effects of this drug may change, so it should be discussed with a doctor. It is also advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice or alcohol. It is safer for pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, and breastfeeding women not to take this drug, as it may affect the fetus or newborn. For children and adolescents under the age of 18, it is recommended not to use this medication due to insufficient clinical trial data. Elderly patients need special attention when starting treatment with this drug, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. In cases of overdose, serious hypotension or heart issues may occur, so prompt medical attention should be sought. This drug has high lipophilicity and may not be removed by hemodialysis, so caution is advised.
