This medication contains the ingredient α-lipoic acid, and individuals who are allergic to this component or other excipients should not use it. Additionally, there is not enough clinical experience with this medication in children and adolescents, so it is advisable not to administer it to them. During use, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may occasionally occur, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, and itching may also arise. Caution should be exercised as hypoglycemia might present with symptoms like dizziness, sweating, headache, and visual disturbances. Occasionally, there may be changes in taste perception. Alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking this medication as it can worsen neurological symptoms and diminish its efficacy. Care should be taken when using this medication alongside other drugs, especially as it may reduce the effectiveness of the oncology drug cisplatin and should not be taken concurrently with preparations containing iron, magnesium, or calcium. Medications with these metal components are safer when taken separately after meals. Additionally, co-administration with insulin or other diabetes medications may lead to excessively low blood sugar; therefore, blood sugar levels should be monitored regularly, and medication doses adjusted if necessary. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a physician before using this medication, as there is not enough information regarding its safety. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms such as loss of consciousness, generalized seizures, hypoglycemia, or shock may occur, necessitating immediate hospital visits for emergency treatment. This medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, and it must be kept in a secure place out of reach of children. Moreover, transferring to another container may affect the quality; therefore, it is best to store it in the original container.
