Iron deficiency anemia is a condition that occurs when there is a lack of iron in the body. This medication supplements iron in the body, improves the symptoms of anemia, and aids in the production of healthy blood. Symptoms such as fatigue and dizziness may be relieved upon administration. It is also effective in preventing complications caused by iron deficiency. Therefore, it is used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults and those 12 years of age and older, take 1 capsule once daily after meals.

Precautions

This medication contains iron, and if accidentally ingested in large amounts by children under 6 years old, it can cause serious poisoning and death, so it should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children. People who have allergic reactions to this medication, infants under 12 months old, patients with certain iron metabolism disorders, and patients with iron overload should not take this medication. Also, during the course of treatment, medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, and antacids should not be taken together, and foods like green tea, black tea, and milk should be avoided before and after ingestion. If undergoing treatment with gastrointestinal diseases or having heart, kidney disorders, or taking other medications, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist should be done before use. If unusual reactions like hives, itching, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, or blood abnormalities occur during administration, discontinue use immediately and consult medical personnel. It is important to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and regimen, and to accurately identify the cause of anemia before treatment starts. Regular blood tests should be done during administration to prevent overdose, and taking this medication with vitamin C may increase iron absorption. Folic acid included in this medication should be used together with vitamin B12 for patients with pernicious anemia, and caution should be taken in cases of excessive alcohol consumption due to the risk of iron overload. During storage, keep it sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and out of reach of children. Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, or antacids. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist if taking with iron preparations, anti-aldosterone agents, triamterene, quinolone antibiotics, penicillamine, cholestyramine, pancreatic enzymes, vitamin E, diphosphonate salts, thyroxine, cefdinir preparations, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in doses over 200 mg.

Food interactions

Avoid beverages that contain tannins, such as green tea and black tea, and milk and dairy products during or before and after taking this medication.
