Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to this medicine or its components. This medication should not be used in patients with serious gastrointestinal issues such as bleeding, obstruction, or perforation as it can stimulate gastrointestinal motility. This medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with genetic conditions such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid it. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur during treatment, and if symptoms like low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, or hives appear, administration should be stopped immediately and medical help sought. Liver function impairment or jaundice may occur, so liver function tests and symptom changes should be closely monitored, and treatment should be stopped if any abnormal signs are observed. Gastrointestinal side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and increased salivation. Neurological symptoms such as headache, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and dizziness may occur, so symptoms should be monitored closely. Hormonal changes may cause gynecomastia or elevated prolactin levels; if these anomalies occur, discontinuation of treatment is necessary. Blood tests may show decreased platelet or white blood cell counts, so regular blood tests should be performed to monitor the condition. This medication may affect kidney function, and BUN and creatinine levels should be monitored. Liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT, γ-GTP, ALP) may rise, so liver health should be monitored regularly. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, redness, or itching may occur, and if these symptoms appear, treatment should be stopped. Symptoms of movement disorders, such as tremors, may appear; if symptoms are severe, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate measures taken. Occasionally, chest or back pain and fatigue may occur, so physical condition changes should be closely observed. This medication enhances the action of acetylcholine; therefore, it should be used with consideration of this fact, and if gastrointestinal symptoms do not improve, long-term usage is not recommended. When taken with anticholinergics, the effectiveness of this medication may be reduced, so a sufficient interval should be maintained between dosages. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication if the benefit outweighs the risk, as its safety has not been established. Lactating women should avoid this medication if possible, as it may be excreted in breast milk; if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued. Safety in pediatric patients has not been thoroughly established, so caution is advised when administering it to children. Elderly patients may experience adverse reactions more readily due to decreased bodily functions, so symptoms should be carefully monitored, and dose adjustments or pauses considered as necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may pose a risk of accidents and decrease the quality of the medication.
