Improvement of chronic hepatitis (elevated ALT)
Chronic hepatitis with continuously elevated ALT levels indicates inflammation of the liver, and it is important to improve liver function and alleviate inflammation through treatment. This medication is used to control the elevated ALT levels in patients with chronic hepatitis and to restore liver health.
As Biphenyl Dimethyl Dicarboxylate, take 25 to 50 mg orally, three times a day. Adjust dose as needed based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this drug or its components. Particular caution should be exercised when using this drug in patients with chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis. Side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rash may occur while taking this medication. If these symptoms occur, an allergy treatment may alleviate them. There may be temporary jaundice due to liver dysfunction, but stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment can improve the condition. Nausea or abdominal bloating may occur rarely, but these symptoms typically resolve naturally over time. Taking this drug together with Inosine may enhance liver enzyme improvement. It is safest for pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women to avoid taking this medication. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so the dosage of this medication should be appropriately adjusted and used with caution. Elevations in liver enzyme levels are rare during treatment, but they may occur upon discontinuation of the drug. Restarting the medication can lead to improvement in liver enzyme levels again. This medication should be stored out of reach of children. Moreover, transferring the drug from its original container to another may result in dosing errors or degradation of the drug quality, so it should be kept in its original container and tightly closed.
