View approved original text

In patients with chronic hepatitis, ALT levels often remain elevated over time. This indicates ongoing liver cell damage or inflammation. Appropriate treatment is required to improve this condition. This medication helps protect liver function damaged by chronic hepatitis and regulates ALT levels to the normal range. Therefore, it is used to maintain liver health and prevent deterioration in patients with chronic hepatitis.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with an allergic reaction to this medication or its ingredients. Caution is advised when administering it to patients with chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis, and liver function status should be closely monitored. Side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and skin rash may occur, but these symptoms may subside when taken with antihistamines. Jaundice symptoms may temporarily appear, but stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment can improve the symptoms. Nausea or abdominal bloating may rarely occur, but these usually disappear soon. This medication may improve ALT levels, a liver function indicator, when taken with inosine. It is safest for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant and for those who are breastfeeding to avoid taking this medication. Elderly patients should use this medication cautiously, as bodily functions may be diminished, and doses should be reduced accordingly. During treatment, most liver function test values remain stable, but levels may rise after stopping the medication; however, improvement is observed upon resuming. This medication should be kept in a safe place out of reach of children, and it should be stored in its original packaging to maintain the quality and prevent misuse.
