Efficacy & effects

Short-term adjunctive treatment for weight loss in exogenous obesity

  • Exogenous obesity
View approved original text

This medication is used to assist weight loss in initial obesity patients who do not respond to appropriate dietary and exercise therapies, particularly those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or above, or with risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or hyperlipidemia. Patients will take this medication as a short-term adjunct alongside weight loss therapy based on exercise, behavior modification, and caloric restriction. Moreover, this medication should be used alone and not in combination with other appetite suppressants for effectiveness. The Body Mass Index is calculated based on height and weight, and a higher BMI increases the risk of obesity, requiring treatment. This medication helps improve such obesity and reduce health risks.
