Precautions

This medication should not be used by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. Additionally, those who have had an allergic reaction to any component of this medication should avoid taking it. Those with a history of allergy to this medication, those who have undergone a urea breath test within the last two weeks, patients with phenylketonuria, and those with respiratory diseases such as asthma, pneumonia, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease should use it cautiously. While using this medication, liver function levels may occasionally rise, so liver health must be monitored closely. If proton pump inhibitors, certain antibiotics, or medications with urease activity have been taken before the test, it is advisable to wait at least 4 weeks after taking these medications before undergoing the test, as it may yield inaccurate results. If there are other infections in the gastrointestinal tract or if there is achlorhydria, caution is required as it may affect test results. Even if the test result is negative, Helicobacter pylori infection cannot be completely ruled out, so it must be judged comprehensively along with symptoms or family history. It is essential to fast as directed before the test, as failing to do so may affect the test results. The active ingredient, urea, has been reported in some studies to have potential genotoxicity, so it should only be used cautiously if the diagnostic benefit is deemed greater than the risks. No studies have been conducted on drug interactions with this medication, so care should be taken when taking other medications concurrently. The straw included in the test should only be used for collecting breath samples, and care should be taken not to exhale deeply but rather to exhale normally. During the test, it is important to maintain a quiet and stable state, and fasting must be maintained for at least 4 hours prior to the test. Products past their expiration date should not be used.
