Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its components. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occasionally occur during treatment with this drug, so symptoms should be carefully monitored. There may be a decrease in white blood cell or platelet count, making it important to regularly check blood status. Since liver function may be impaired, if liver enzyme levels rise or jaundice symptoms occur, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a physician. If skin hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, rash, or itching occur, medication should be discontinued. Neuropsychiatric symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, or numbness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and heartburn may occur. If liver enzyme levels rise sharply or if fever and rash are present, medication should be discontinued and an evaluation by medical personnel is necessary. Changes in blood tests showing decreased white blood cells or platelets, and increased lymphocytes may occur, so regular testing is required. Various side effects may occur, including mastitis, breast pain, gynecomastia, increased milk secretion, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue numbness, cough, dyspnea, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, and edema. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks when taking this medication, and breastfeeding should be avoided as the drug may transfer to breast milk. Safety in children, especially low-birth-weight infants, newborns, and young children, has not been sufficiently established, so caution is necessary. The elderly may be more sensitive to adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal symptoms due to decreased physiological function, and should be closely monitored. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and care should be taken to avoid transferring it to another container, as this may cause accidents or affect the quality of the drug.
