Corticosteroids are effective medications for relieving itching and inflammation caused by skin diseases. This medication helps reduce the inflammatory response of the skin and alleviate symptoms, allowing patients to feel more comfortable. It is primarily used for the treatment of various skin diseases, including allergic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis. Corticosteroids quickly soothe inflammation and itching, contributing to improved skin condition. Therefore, it is effectively used to treat symptoms associated with these skin problems.

How to use

Adult use

Apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily and gently rub it in until fully absorbed. Avoid the use of occlusive dressings.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections, as it may worsen symptoms. Patients allergic to this drug or its ingredients should also avoid use. It is advisable not to use this medication for patients with eczematous external otitis having a perforated tympanic membrane, or for those with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as healing may be delayed. It should not be administered to patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, pruritus around the anus or genitals, and to infants under two years of age. Use with caution in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children, and the elderly, especially if allergic to the propylene glycol ingredient contained in this medication. Use of this drug may lead to various skin side effects such as skin infections, folliculitis, skin irritation, rashes, and itching, so use should be discontinued if symptoms appear. Prolonged use may cause thinning of the skin or pigmentation changes, steroid-induced acne, hence gradual reduction in dosage and switching to alternative medications is recommended. If this drug is used extensively or under occlusive dressings for a long time, systemic hormone suppression may occur, necessitating regular examinations. Care should be taken to avoid use around the eyes, as this can lead to increased intraocular pressure or glaucomatous eye diseases; immediate ophthalmic care is required if symptoms like blurred vision occur. This medication is generally not recommended for eczema or dermatitis accompanied by skin infections but may be used in unavoidable cases in conjunction with antibacterial or antifungal agents. Discontinue use as soon as symptoms improve, and stop immediately if symptoms worsen. The safety of this medication has not been established in pregnant or nursing women; therefore, high doses or extended use should be avoided and should only be used cautiously when necessary. In children, prolonged use for more than three weeks is discouraged due to the potential risks of hormone suppression or growth disturbances given their higher body surface area relative to weight. In the elderly, side effects can occur more readily, so careful observation should be made when using high doses or long-term use. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should also be avoided on skin after cosmetics or shaving, and the use of occlusive dressings should be strictly according to medical advice. Finally, it should be kept out of reach of children in a safe place.
