Precautions

This medicine is an external antiseptic containing chlorhexidine. Firstly, this medicine should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine. If you have previously experienced allergic reactions to this medication or similar medications, you should avoid using it. Additionally, it may be dangerous to use it directly on nerve tissues such as the brain, spinal cord, inner or middle ear, and external ear. Using it in these areas may result in hearing loss or neurological disorders. It is preferable to avoid using this medication on mucosal areas such as the vagina, bladder, and oral cavity as it can cause shock symptoms like nausea, discomfort, cold sweat, dizziness, shortness of breath, and skin redness upon contact with mucous membranes. Care should be taken as contact with the eyes can cause serious corneal damage. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water. Avoid use on areas with erosion or purulence in wounds. This medication should be used cautiously in individuals with a history of allergies to other medications or a history of allergic diseases, such as asthma, or a family history of such conditions. During use, rare but severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur. If symptoms like nausea, cold sweat, dizziness, shortness of breath, or skin redness appear, stop using it immediately and seek appropriate treatment. If symptoms of hypersensitivity, such as rash or hives, arise, use should be discontinued. There is also a risk of anaphylactic shock occurring, so caution is required. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication as its safety has not been confirmed in animal experiments or clinical trials. This medicine should be used only externally and should never be taken orally or injected. If swallowed accidentally, stomach lavage should be performed using milk, eggs, gelatin, etc., and immediate treatment at a hospital is required. Long-term use on extensive wounds or burn areas is not recommended, especially for preterm infants or newborns, due to the increased risk of systemic side effects. To maintain the bactericidal effect of this medication, medical instruments should be thoroughly washed before use, ensuring there are no residues from soaps or other substances. When using, a fresh diluted solution should be prepared daily, and it is preferable to use clean distilled water for dilution. This medication tends to adhere easily to fibers or cloth, so it is necessary to use a solution of sufficient concentration or replace it with a new solution. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It is advisable to keep it in its original container to prevent misuse or deterioration of quality.
