This medication is effective for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as cervicobrachial syndrome, adhesive capsulitis, and low back pain. It is also used to improve symptoms of muscle stiffness and paralysis due to various neurological disorders, such as spastic paralysis caused by neurological diseases, cerebrovascular disorders, cerebral palsy, and post-traumatic sequelae from spinal cord injury.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer orally 50 mg of Eperisone Hydrochloride three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage as appropriate depending on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in specific patients. First, it should not be administered to patients allergic to this drug or those with severe myasthenia gravis. Additionally, it contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this drug. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with a history of drug allergies or impaired liver function. Patients allergic to Yellow No. 4 dye should also be cautious, specifically regarding the export product. When taking this medication, attention should be paid to side effects. Rarely, shock reactions may occur, so symptoms should be monitored closely, and the medication should be stopped immediately if abnormalities occur. Liver function tests may rise, and kidney function may be affected, so regular examinations are recommended. Allergic symptoms such as anemia or skin rash, itching may also occur. Additionally, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, limb paralysis, and symptoms such as body stiffness may occur, so careful observation is necessary. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, along with rare urinary tract issues. Systemic symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, and decreased muscle tone may also occur, so it is important to monitor overall health. If serious skin adverse reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome occur, discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical attention. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur while taking this medication, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. If taken with other muscle relaxants, side effects may be exacerbated, so it is crucial to consult with a physician. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult with a physician regarding the safety of this medication. Nursing mothers should also avoid taking this medication if possible, and if necessary, discontinuing breastfeeding is recommended.
