How to take

Adult dose

Administer 100 mg orally, three times a day as levamisole. However, for gastric ulcers, it should be taken in the morning, evening, and before bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to any of its ingredients. During the administration of this medication, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may rarely occur, so symptoms should be monitored carefully. There may be rare side effects such as decreased white blood cells or platelets, so regular blood status checks are necessary. Liver function abnormalities may occur, requiring close monitoring of liver enzyme levels and jaundice symptoms. If skin hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, rash, or itching occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and numbness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and taste disturbances may appear. If liver enzyme levels significantly increase or if fever and rash accompany, the medication should be stopped and a healthcare professional consulted. Regular blood tests are recommended as thrombocytopenia or changes in white blood cell count may be discovered. Various side effects such as breast engorgement, breast pain, gynecomastia, milk secretion, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue numbness, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, renal function changes, edema, and a feeling of a foreign body in the pharynx may occur, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication after consulting adequately with a physician when the therapeutic benefits are considered to outweigh the risks. Also, this medication may be transmitted through breast milk; therefore, breastfeeding women should either stop breastfeeding or avoid taking this medication. The safety of this medication in children, especially low-birth-weight infants, newborns, infants, and children, has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is required for use. In elderly patients, bodily function may be diminished, requiring more caution toward side effects associated with gastrointestinal symptoms. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container, as this could pose a risk of accidents and a decrease in quality.
