Precautions

This medication may pose a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding for individuals who consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily; hence, consultation with a physician or pharmacist is mandatory. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of serious issues such as heart attack or stroke; therefore, patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should be monitored closely. Because it can cause serious gastrointestinal issues such as bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, particular caution is advised for those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or the elderly. Rarely, this medication can cause serious allergic reactions or dermatitis; if skin rashes or mucosal damage occur, discontinue use immediately. Kidney function may be affected, so patients with kidney disease or diminished kidney function should use this medication cautiously. Patients with active gastric ulcers, bleeding, severe liver impairment, kidney dysfunction, heart failure, hypertension, and certain inflammatory bowel disease should not use this medication. Elderly patients, those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, patients with weakened kidney or liver function, and those at risk of cardiovascular disease should be monitored closely. This medication can interact with other drugs, especially anticoagulants, lithium, methotrexate, diuretics, and antihypertensives, so consultation with a physician is necessary. During pregnancy, it can be harmful to the fetus; therefore, it should not be used, and breastfeeding women should also avoid taking it. This medication may cause central nervous system symptoms such as drowsiness or dizziness; caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and gastrointestinal bleeding may occur, so immediate medical attention is required. This medication should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration to reduce the risk of side effects, and routine blood tests and liver/kidney function tests should be performed to check for abnormalities.
